Abdullah Ayada Abdullah Abu Samhadana (born on September 15 , 1950 - died on April 1 , 2020 ) is a Palestinian politician and minister, [1] He is considered one of the most prominent leaders and founders of the Fatah movement , [2] [3] He is the governor of Deir al-Balah Governorate in the Gaza Strip , He was the first governor of Rafah Governorate in the Gaza Strip by decision of President Yasser Arafat , [4] and he is a member of the Palestinian National Council for successive terms, [5] a member of the Palestinian Central Council , [6] and a member of the Palestinian Revolutionary Council ,[7] Head of the organizational department in the supreme leadership body of the Fatah movement in the Gaza Strip , [8] secretary of the committee, and member of the advisory council of the Fatah movement. [9] Abu Samhadana is one of the first founders of the Palestinian captive movement. [10]
His life [ edit ]
Abdullah Iyada Abdullah Abu Samhadana was born on September 15 , 1950 in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip . He was educated in the schools of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the city. Abu Samhadana completed his university studies at Birzeit University in the West Bank , and from there he left for the Jordanian capital, Amman , to work as an inspector in UNRWA schools there. [11]
Abu Samhadana returned to the Gaza Strip at the request of Khalil Al-Wazir to manage the affairs of the Palestinian Intifada in the Strip. There he worked as a lecturer at the Islamic University . He also participated in establishing the Fatah Youth Organization at that time. [12]
The Israeli authorities arrested Abu Samhadana several times. In December 1988, Israel deported him to Lebanon , and he returned in 1993 with the vanguard of the Palestinian forces following the Oslo Accords . [13]

Abdullah Abu Samhadana died at dawn on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 . [14] Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas , the Fatah movement , the Palestinian government, and the factions mourned Abu Samhadana.
