Omar Hashem is the new president-elect of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the 2019 elections. He is a son of the city of Nablus, born in 1948. He is a Nablusian economist and merchant through his grandfather. He works in the field of money exchange (in his company that he founded in 1984) and is the owner of Hashem Trading and Novote stores in Betrayed by merchants since 1999.
Omar Hashem holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration from the Higher Commercial Institute in Cairo - Arab Republic of Egypt and graduated in 1971.
During his career until today, Omar Hashem has held the following positions:
Director of Leumi Bank / Municipality Square Branch / Nablus from 1971 until 1984
Member of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Chemical Factory - Beit Jala (formerly)
In 1992, he was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he served as Vice President of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry until 2011.
Treasurer of the administrative body of the Federation of Charitable Societies of the Northern West Bank
Representative of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Civil Committee Association in Nablus Governorate
Treasurer/Lending Fund for People with Disabilities at Sheikh Khalifa Center/Nablus
