Siham Muhammad Abd al-Salam al-Barghouti is a Palestinian woman who served as Minister of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture in the second and third governments of Salam Fayyad in the period from May 19, 2009 until June 6, 2013.
Her biography
Suham Barghouti was born in Hebron in 1948. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting Department, from Alexandria University in Egypt in 1970. She joined the ranks of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine in 1975 and worked in the mass activities of the Palestine Liberation Organization . She was one of the founders of the first mass settlement framework, the Women’s Action Committees, to integrate women into the struggle. She was one of the founders of the Palestinian Democratic Union - FIDA and held the position of Deputy Secretary of the FIDA Party
