Information

Yasser Mohammed Salem Doudin was born on May 1, 1962, in the town of Dura in the Hebron Governorate. He is married and has seven children. He received his primary and secondary education in Dura schools and earned a bachelor's degree in history from Hebron University. He worked as a teacher and then as a principal in Dura schools, after which he worked for the General Union of Teachers, then for popular organizations, and later in the Hebron Governorate until he was appointed as an advisor to the Minister of the Interior.
He joined the Fatah movement in 1980, and was active in its ranks. He had a role in the student youth movement during his university studies. He also contributed to the movement's committees and regions in the Fatah movement, and progressed through the organizational positions until he became the secretary of the Fatah movement in the southern Hebron region. He was also elected as a member of the movement's Revolutionary Council at the seventh conference in 2016.
Doudin believes that the Palestinian cause will remain no matter what the occupation does, and that Palestine is the homeland of the Palestinians and its capital is Jerusalem, and that the liberation of Palestine and the establishment of the state is inevitable, if not in the near future then in the time of future generations.
Doudin believes in the path of negotiations with the occupation and considers it an acceptable option, provided that the constants are adhered to. He believes that the PLO’s going to the negotiations came in a context in which the settlement had become part of international and Arab obligations, but the negotiations did not work. He believes that the Palestinian division is one of the most dangerous things that the Palestinian cause has gone through, and there is an American-Israeli attempt to take advantage of the state of division to pass a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip, in addition to parts of Sinai, separate from the West Bank. He calls on everyone to hasten to return to unity and to stay away from personal interests and political positions.
Doudin emphasizes that international laws have granted the Palestinian people the right to resist in order to achieve their goal and liberate themselves from their occupation, but each stage has its own methods and approaches. Armed struggle may be the most effective at one stage, and negotiations may be the most effective at another. He believes that the Palestine Liberation Organization must be restructured and reactivated to become the umbrella organization for all Palestinian organizations, and that through dialogue, the Palestinian organizations can agree on a minimum national program that serves the Palestinian cause.
