Mahmoud Ibrahim Musleh Sleite was born in the depopulated village of Khubayza, in the Haifa district, occupied in 1942. He is married and has four sons and six daughters. He studied the primary and secondary levels at Tubas School, and obtained a bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the Faculty of Arts at Birzeit University in 1983. He worked as a physical education teacher and then as an educational supervisor in a number of government schools between (1963-1989), including: Turmus Ayya, Ittihad Safa, and Prince Hassan. He then worked as an Arabic language teacher at the College of Educational Sciences in Ramallah between (1989-1990), and then as the director of the Islamic Charitable Society in Al-Bireh between (1990-2003). He also worked as a sports coach for a number of sports club teams, such as Turmus Ayya and Silwad clubs.
He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1976 and became involved in its advocacy, social, institutional and intellectual activities. He was a reference for the Islamic Bloc at Birzeit University, and from the founding generation of Hamas. He planned and implemented its national activities, and was an active member in a number of its organizational bodies, its charitable and educational institutions, and an official in its first media apparatus.
He was elected as a member of the Legislative Council on the Change and Reform list of the Hamas movement in the 2006 legislative elections.
Musleh wrote intellectual, educational, and political articles, composed poetry, and published two collections of poems:
The ball of time is still turning (1983)
And songs without sheaths
He also has a number of manuscript collections of poems and plays.
He suffered greatly throughout his life; he endured the ordeal of displacement in 1948, the life of a refugee, and was summoned by the occupation's intelligence services several times. His home was searched, and he was dismissed from his job in 1990 due to his arrest by the occupation forces. He spent many years in the occupation's prisons. He passed away on September 1, 2022.
