Hosni Abu Gheida obtained his BA in architecture from the University of Aleppo in Syria,1972.

He worked in the private sector in the fields of engineering, architecture, administration and planning from 1972-1999. He has served as president of Jordan Engineers Association, lecturer of architectural design at the universities of Jordan and Aleppo, board member of the Jordanian Arbitrators Association and member of the Arab Chamber of Arbitrators. Abu Gheida, who is a recipient of the Al Kawkab Medal of the First Order, served as minister of public works and housing in the cabinet of former Prime Minister Ali Abu Ragheb.
