Amin Salim Jarjoura (Hebrew: אמין-סלים ג'רג'ורה) 1886 – August 20, 1975) was an Arab-Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset on the Democratic List of Nazareth from 1949-1951.

 

Curriculum Vitae

Amin Salim Jarjoura was born in Nazareth, joined the Law Institute in Jerusalem, worked as a teacher at the Russian School in his hometown, and served in the Ottoman army during the First World War. After the war, he became a lecturer at the Rashidiya School (Jerusalem) between 1922 and 1926, and worked as a lawyer in Haifa and Nazareth.

In the first Knesset elections in 1949, Jarjoura came second on the Nazareth Democratic List, which won two seats, and came second on the Agriculture and Development List in the 1951 elections, losing his seat as the party won only one seat. He became mayor of Nazareth in 1954, a position he held until 1960.
