Abdul Hamid Yassin , born in Lod, in 1908. He is a Palestinian journalist and writer. 

His life

He graduated from the Teachers' College in Jerusalem in 1924. He taught for six years and then joined the American University in Cairo , where he obtained a BA in Social Sciences and Literature in 1933. 

 He held several administrative positions, the most prominent of which were: teaching at the Friends School in Ramallah , where he organized the “Okaz” literary parties. He was then appointed assistant director of Arabic programs at the Palestinian Radio Station in 1936, from where he was transferred to the translation office, which is one of the branches of the General Secretariat in Jerusalem in 1937, until he became director of the Emirate of Jaffa Municipality in 1947.

 After the 1948 Nakba, he went to Jordan, then to Cairo, where he worked as a registrar at the American University, a teacher, dean of the College of Education, and editor of the magazine “Modern Education.” During this work, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in education. For several years in the 1940s, he was responsible for children’s and youth programs on Palestine Radio, where he presented his programs under the name “Abu Osama.”

 In 1953, he returned to Jordan, where he was appointed director of the Teachers' College in Amman when it was established. He established the magazine "The Teacher's Message" and was its editor-in-chief. The University of Jordan borrowed him as Secretary-General when it was established in 1962. In 1964, he was appointed Director of the Education Department at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East in Jordan. In 1966, he was chosen Director of the Palestine Liberation Organization offices in Cairo, representing it at the Arab League .

 This is what he contributed to writing the short story, both topical and translated. This was in his book that he published in 1946 in Jaffa and included a collection of short stories entitled “Stories.” He also contributed to translating the book The Unleashed Mind (Beirut 1960), and a collection of short stories by Oscar Wilde, Hoffman and Chekhov (Jaffa 1946).

His death

 Abdul Hamid Yassin died and was buried in Amman (1975). After his death, his articles that he published in newspapers and magazines were collected and published in the following books: A Message on Modern Education, Thought and Literature, Palestinian Features, Notable Figures and Management, and On Islamic Occasions. 

He held other positions before the Nakba, including: Director of the Municipality of Jaffa in 1947. After 1948, he sought refuge in Jordan, and was appointed to the management of teachers' institutes, then as an expert at UNESCO, then he was chosen as Secretary-General of the University of Jordan when it was established, then he held the position of Director-General of Jordanian Radio in 1967. Abdul Hamid Yassin died and was buried in Amman (1975). After his death, his articles that he published in newspapers and magazines were collected and published in the following books: A Message on Modern Education, Thought and Literature, Palestinian Features, Flags and Management, and On Islamic Occasions. 

Abdul Hamid Yassin wrote articles, stories, and educational treatises. His first works include the collection “Stories,” which was printed in Jaffa in 1946, and his treatise on “Modern Education,” which was printed after his death in 1975. 

Among his books is Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 229 BC - 1996 AD: Between the cultural decline of the West, independence and division.
