Suhail Kiwan, a Palestinian journalist and novelist, was born in the village of Majd al-Krum in the Western Galilee in 1956. A father of (4) children, he studied primary in his village and high school in agricultural Ramah, studied philosophy for a year in East Berlin, worked in all black jobs, entrepreneurship and trade, and then worked since 1998 AD as a literary editor for the newspaper Kul Al-Arab issued in Nazareth until 2014. He began writing in Al-Jadeed magazine published in Haifa , Al-Ittihad newspaper, and Al-Ghad magazine since 1983.



Writes political, literary and social press article. He has been writing for years in the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, as well as in the Arab 48 website in Haifa. He has written hundreds of short stories and articles for the local press and the Arab press. He has published three novels, five short story collections, ten children's stories, two studies and a number of plays. He works with libraries, the Academy of the Arabic Language and the Cultural Basket in meetings with students, as part of the Meet a Writer programs. He won the Tawfiq Ziyad Foundation Award for National Culture in 2002 for a critical study in Ghassan Kanafani's literature. Titled Sad beauty glowing tender.



His literature was and is still the subject of study and criticism by many Palestinian and Arab critics and creators, and many students of Arabic literature at various educational levels presented studies in his literature under the guidance of the country's senior professors of Arabic literature.

The Gluttonous Monkey, first edition 1995, followed by several editions, drawings by Irina Karkby, Children's Literature Center, Haifa. The idea of the story of the "gluttonous monkey" came from the phenomenon of gluttony among some, especially young people, who are ignorant of how to maintain a healthy diet and how to maintain their physical fitness. The writer considered that the most appropriate way to explain the idea to young children is to speak on the tongues of animals.
