Abdullah Al-Sheety (1934 Haifa - 1999 Kuwait), Palestinian writer and journalist. He worked in several Arab newspapers and took over the editorial management of Al-Rai Al-Aam newspaper and Al-Nahda magazine, in Kuwait, and published collections of stories and satirical articles.

He was born in Haifa in 1934, and after the 1948 war he took refuge with his family in Beirut and then in Damascus. He worked in Damascus as a teacher in a private high school, and also worked in the press, and was an auditor in the Damascene newspaper Al-Ayyam and edited it later, then moved to Beirut and worked in Al-Bairaq newspaper, which was published by Wajih Mazboudi, and also worked as a representative of the Sultanate of Oman in Beirut. In 1963 he moved to Kuwait and worked with Brigadier General Abdul Aziz Al-Masaeed at the Kuwaiti Dar Al-Rai Al-Aam as editor-in-chief of Al-Rai Al-Aam newspaper and Al-Nahda magazine for more than three decades. The most famous of them are “Whispering and Nostalgia” in Al-Bairaq, and “Songs of Aphrodite” in Al-Nahda. He published articles in the Emirati newspaper Al-Wahda, Akhbar Al-Osboa magazine in Qatar, and Al-Dawlia magazine published in France. He appeared in various Kuwaiti and Gulf media outlets.

 

He was a member of the Arab Writers Union and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association, and in various cultural and literary associations.
