Ali Suleiman, a Palestinian actor born in Nazareth, is the son of a family that was displaced from their village of Saffuriya in the Nakba of 1948. He studied acting and graduated from the Levinstein Institute in 2000.
He began his artistic career in the theater, where he participated in many theaters and presented important works and played dramatic, comedic, and classical roles. Then he moved to cinema with his first heroic work in the Palestinian film directed by Hany Abu Assad, which won many international awards, the most important of which was the "Golden Globe" award, and he was nominated for the "Oscar" award.
Then, in 2006, he launched into the world through his participation in the films of the huge Hollywood studios "Universal", including his participation in the film "The Kingdom" by director Peter Berg and the film "Body of Lies" by Warner Bros. with veteran director Ridley Scott, and recently "The Last Survivor" and the TV series "The Promise" Channel 4, United Kingdom, directed by Peter Kosminsky. He won the Best Actor Award at the Dubai Film Festival 2011 and the Carthage Film Festival 2012 through his participation in the film "The Last Friday" by director Yahya Al-Abdullah, and won the Best Actor Award at the Alexandria Film Festival 2014 for his role in the Palestinian film "Sunrise on Mars".
