Information
Amer Khalil began working in the field of theater early with the Hakawati Troupe, which he met in 1980, where he was a volunteer working with the troupe to sell tickets and help the troupe in its local tours inside Palestine. From the beginning, Khalil had a very special and distinguished relationship with the late artist Francois Abu Salem, the director and founder of the Hakawati Troupe. Through his work with the Hakawati Troupe, Khalil received intensive training from the artist Francois Abu Salem, and in 1983, Amer was one of the founders who worked and established the Al-Nuzha Hakawati Theater.
During his years of work, Khalil took many courses and workshops in the field of theater, as an “actor” and “director,” taught by many Arab and foreign artists at different times, and on different topics all over the world. Between 1988-1991, he settled in Paris, where he began studying the French language, and worked extensively in France with many theater groups as a “resident artist,” and obtained certificates of experience from institutes and theater groups there. He received many trainings with French and Dutch directors, and participated intermittently with some European theater groups with the aim of learning and gaining experience.
