Information

Sami Haddad is a British media professional of Palestinian origin from the city of Bethlehem and one of the longest-serving presenters on Al Jazeera. He is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Arabic. He has a strong interest in music and theater and is also a poet. In the 1960s, he wrote political poetry during the era of political parties, Arab nationalist movements, and periods of detention. After that phase, his poetry shifted toward romantic themes.

Sami Haddad has worked in the media field for more than four decades. He began his career in 1974 with the Arabic Service of BBC Radio, and in 1978 he was appointed Head of the Political News Programs Department. In 1994, he moved to BBC Television (which closed in 1996), where he served as Head of the Arabic Department and hosted the talk show “Beyond the News.”

In 1995, he joined Al Jazeera, before later relocating to London, from where he presented his program “More Than One Opinion” for fifteen years, until the program ended in 2009. He remains an employee of Al Jazeera and continues to maintain his office in London.
