Abdel Nasser Mahmoud Mustafa Al-Najjar (Abu Jamal; born February 10, 1960 in Al-Fawwar camp - died June 23, 2021 in Ramallah) was a Palestinian journalist, author and university professor, who was the captain of Palestinian journalists until his resignation in 2016.

Abdel Nasser Mahmoud Mustafa Qassem Najjar was born in Al-Fawwar camp, north of Hebron, on February 10, 1960, to a Palestinian family who had fled from the village of Al-Fallujah in the Gaza district after it was destroyed by Zionist gangs during the events of the Nakba War in 1948. He received his school education in Hebron schools, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Birzeit University, where he later obtained a master's degree in international relations. He also received a doctorate in media in 2009.

Nasser held the position of managing editor of Al-Shaab newspaper in Jerusalem, and was deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Ayyam newspaper since 1995, as well as a teacher at Birzeit and Al-Quds universities. He was elected in April 2012 as the head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and continued in his position until his resignation in January 2016. He was also a member of the Union of Arab Journalists and the International Federation of Journalists, and the Union of Arab Journalists awarded him the “Shield of the Union for Arab Press” on June 29 ( June) 2013. He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Journalists, and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Journalists.

He had also published a book entitled "Creative Writing for Journalism", which was published in 2009 by the Media Development Center at Birzeit University.

Al-Najjar died in the Istishari Arab Hospital in the Rayhan suburb of Ramallah on the evening of June 23, 2021 AD corresponding to Dhu al-Qa’dah 13, 1442 AH, and his death came as a result of complications from Covid-19, which he had contracted four months ago. He was buried on June 24, 2021 in his family cemetery in the Karantina area of Hebron city.
