Jihad Youssef Ahmed Saleh Abu Shanab, a Palestinian journalist, was born in Cairo on October 15, 1979. His origins are from the village of Jiyeh, the district of the Palestinian city of Majdal. He is a former player in the Qatari Al-Ahly Club, and he is currently working as a broadcaster and reporter for Al-Jazeera Sports Channel.

He completed his primary, preparatory and secondary studies in Qatar during his stay there before traveling to Syria to complete his university studies in the Department of Media at the University of Damascus, graduating in 2002
The jobs he held
worked in the office of the Turkish Cihan News Agency while studying at the university and worked in Qatari television for six years and at the same time as a correspondent for CNBC in Doha for three years, then moved to work in the Qatari league and cup channel with the beginning of its launch before joining in 2008 to work in Al Jazeera Sports, where he worked as a journalist and reporter, as well as a broadcaster and presenter for the press and economy tour, for a whole year, working in the channel's promo by recording the signals for the channel's programs and news bulletins, as he was the official voice of the orange channel.
