Lutfi Mazid Ayad: A Palestinian scientist at NASA, originally from the town of Silwad in the Ramallah district. He joined the agency in the 1980s. He owns an engineering company (Cape Design Engineering Co) that NASA contracts with to carry out some of its projects. He recently designed a space experiments laboratory for NASA, after being tasked with completing the mission within a period not exceeding seven and a half months, enabling astronauts to conduct scientific and medical experiments in it. He is the only Palestinian in the engineering staff at NASA.
