Information
Jamil Hilal is a sociologist at Birzeit University and a Senior Researcher at the Palestinian Institution for Democracy Studies (Muwatin) in Ramallah. He is a member of the editorial board of the Palestinian Studies Journal published by the Institute for Palestinian Studies in Arabic. Hilal previously worked as a lecturer at Durham University and was a research fellow at the University of Oxford.
He is a founding member of the Palestinian Poverty Committee and a key contributor to its 1998 National Poverty Report. Hilal has been a member of the Palestinian National Council since 1983.
