Scientist Munir Nayfeh, born in 1945 in Tulkarm, is considered one of the most important nuclear scientists and physicists, and one of the most prominent scientists in nanotechnology, which deals with the arrangement and classification of atoms with extreme precision to employ their luminous properties in developing applications in various fields such as energy and medicine.
He holds a bachelor's degree from the American University of Beirut in 1968 and a doctorate from Stanford University in atomic physics and laser science.
In 1977, Nayfeh worked as a research physicist at the University of Kentucky, then joined the University of Illinois. That same year, he received the Industrial Research Award in the United States.
