Information
Rana Dajani: A Jordanian scientist of Palestinian origin from the city of Jerusalem. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Iowa in the United States. Her research focuses on genetics and its relationship to diabetes and cancer among ethnic groups in Jordan. She has been awarded two Fulbright fellowships.
Dr. Dajani is an Assistant Professor and former Director of the Center for Studies at the Hashemite University in Jordan. She was also a Visiting Professor at the Yale Stem Cell Center at Yale University. She serves as an advisor to the Higher Council for Science and Technology in Jordan and is a member of the Jordanian Advisory Council for UN Women.
She has published articles in Science and Nature magazines on science and women in the Arab world. She founded a network for female trainers and trainees and has been appointed as an expert in higher education development with the National Tempus Office. In addition, she serves as a consultant for the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia and is the founder of the Service Learning Center at the Hashemite University.
