Hala Muhaisen is a Palestinian student from the city of Gaza pursuing postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Science at the Islamic University. She succeeded in developing biological pesticides used to safely and environmentally control agricultural pests as part of biological pest management in agriculture.
Muhaisen’s project was presented as proposals within her scientific research and was adopted by the “Mubadiroun” initiative. It is considered the first product specialized in combating the Tuta absoluta pest, which is harmful to tomato crops. She applied for the “Made in Palestine” Award and won second place, noting that her affiliation with the Mubadiroun project enabled her to further develop her idea through the financial and technical support she received.
