Alaa El-Din Muhannad Muhammad Duwaikat was born on September 27, 1990, in Nablus, Palestine. He is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at An-Najah National University, a position he has held since July 2022. Before this, he served as a full-time lecturer in the same department from January 2016 to July 2022. Prior to becoming a full-time lecturer, he worked as a part-time lecturer in the Accounting Department at An-Najah National University from July 2014 to January 2016. He also taught as a part-time lecturer at Al-Quds Open University from September 2014 to January 2016.
Dr. Duwaikat pursued his academic education at several institutions. He obtained his PhD in Accounting from the Technical University of Valencia in Spain, where he studied from 2018 to 2022. His doctoral research focused on the impact of audit committee characteristics on corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosure, specializing in sustainability accounting, corporate governance, and CSR.
Prior to his PhD, he earned a Master's degree in Accounting from Yarmouk University in Jordan, where he studied from 2012 to 2014. His master's thesis explored the impact of corporate governance mechanisms on audit quality, with a focus on financial accounting and reporting, particularly financial disclosure and internal control.
Dr. Duwaikat completed his undergraduate studies in Accounting at An-Najah National University in Palestine, where he earned his Bachelor's degree from 2009 to 2011. His undergraduate thesis was about interim financial reports.
His academic journey began at My Destiny Touqan, where he completed his high school education in Palestine between 2007 and 2008.
In terms of his career, Dr. Duwaikat started his professional journey as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Yarmouk University in Jordan from September 2012 to May 2014. He then moved on to part-time teaching roles at both Al-Quds Open University and An-Najah National University before becoming a full-time lecturer and eventually an Assistant Professor at An-Najah National University in 2022.
