Policy Member Tariq Sadiq is a Palestinian refugee from the village of Majdal al-Sadiq, Jaffa District, and currently resides in Ramallah. He earned his PhD in Economics in 2008, on optimal monetary policies and convergence criteria for transition economies, from the University of Ivry-Val d'Essonne, France, where he also earned his MA in Macroeconomics and Econometrics in 2003. Sadiq has been active in the Palestine solidarity movement in France, particularly as president of the Union of Palestinian Students in France. He currently works as an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Birzeit University. He has numerous publications and research interests in monetary policies, macroeconomics, econometrics, labor economics, income inequality, and entrepreneurial activity. He also serves as a researcher for the Palestine team at the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor.
