Dr. Amal Moh’d Barakat Al-Dweik is a highly experienced academic and researcher in the field of computer science and information networks. She is currently a faculty member at Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) in Hebron, Palestine, where she has been serving as an instructor since 2002. Dr. Al-Dweik earned her Ph.D. in Information Networks from Cairo University in 2009, following a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Jordan in 2002, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering in 1999. She also holds a distinguished General Secondary Certificate from Barakat School for Girls with a GPA of 95.1%.
Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Al-Dweik has taught a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses including programming languages, software engineering, operating systems, computer architecture, distributed systems, mobile agent systems, and scientific research methods. Her teaching is complemented by significant supervision experience, having advised numerous master’s theses in areas such as fault tolerance in cloud computing and mobile agent performance in wireless networks.
Dr. Al-Dweik has contributed actively to research, with a focus on fault tolerance in mobile agent systems, cloud computing reliability, and wireless ad hoc networks. She has authored and co-authored numerous conference papers and journal articles, including work presented at the International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT), the International Conference on Information & Communication Systems (ICICS), and the International Arab Journal of Information Technology. In 2012, her research culminated in the publication of a book titled "Fault Tolerance of Mobile Agents", published by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing.
In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Al-Dweik has industry experience as a programmer at Trusted Systems in Hebron, where she participated in the development of medical database systems. She has also worked as a part-time instructor at Al-Quds Open University and served as a teaching assistant early in her career at PPU. Her technical background is supported by professional training in Java, Oracle, CCNA, and various educational and administrative workshops.
Dr. Al-Dweik continues to contribute to the field through teaching, research, and the mentorship of graduate students. Her dedication to advancing knowledge in computer science—particularly in mobile agents and system reliability—has made her a valuable asset to the academic and research community in Palestine and the broader region.
