Dr. Maan Abu Bakr holds a PhD in Islamic Law from the University of Jordan, which he obtained in 2008. He is a member of the Supreme Sharia Supervisory Board in Palestine and has held several academic and administrative positions at universities in Palestine and the United Arab Emirates.
Abu Bakr serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Sharia at An-Najah National University in Nablus, Palestine. He has also held several positions at Zayed University within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, including Professor of Islamic World Studies, Associate Professor of Islamic World Studies, Dean of Student Affairs, Assistant Dean for Student and Academic Affairs, and Head of the Department of Islamic World Studies.
In addition to his academic and administrative roles, Abu Bakr has served as Coordinator of the "Islamic Civilization 1" course (COL 135) and the "Islamic Civilization 2" course (COL 230). Earlier in his academic career, he served as an Assistant Professor at the College of Law at Al Ain University in the United Arab Emirates.
