Professor in the Department of Education and Psychology at Birzeit University. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Director of the Ibn Rushd Center for Educational Development, and Director of the Birzeit University Library. He received a BA in Physics and a PhD in Education from Stanford University. He worked in the field of educational development in schools in Ramallah. He was one of the founders of the Teacher Development Center in 1992. He was a visiting researcher at the Carnegie Endowment for Education Development and at Stanford University. Most of his writings and published research are in the areas of science education, professional development, and democracy education.
