Nuha Tawfeq
Helles, a chemistry teacher at Bashir Al-Rayes Secondary School for Girls in
Gaza City, won the title of International Teacher of the Year 2021, from the
AKS “Education Award” in India, which is presented annually to a teacher who
has made an important contribution to their profession.
Among the
26,000 applicants worldwide, Helles reached her goal, after she registered via
the institution’s link, which she spent six full months studying her personal
page on Facebook, the school’s page, and the website she launched to publish
her initiatives in the field of chemistry.
Nuha expresses
her happiness with this victory, which comes as a culmination of 14 years she
spent in the fields of science and knowledge, making it the fifth in her
scientific career.
Hellas won the
title "The Lady of Palestine" in April 2021, the gold medal for the
Creative Arab Woman Award, and the Distinguished Teacher Award for the year
2020 from the Council of Ministers, which she previously won in 2016, in
addition to participation in national and Arab conferences; And obtaining the
title of Goodwill Ambassador for the Health Forum.
Helles is a
mother of four children, and despite many of her family commitments; However,
she believes that time management is the key to success, and she aspires to one
day become a model school principal in Palestine.
The teacher,
Nuha, was not satisfied with this, but rather resorted to learning the
simulation programs "Krokodile" to apply the chemical reactions of
hazardous materials, and trained the students on it, in which the chemical
reactions of hazardous materials that are flammable and explosive appear as if
they were on the ground, and this facilitated many difficult equations found in
the books.
