Banan Salah al-Din studied at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jordan, specializing in Arabic language and literature. She earned her Master's degree from Al-Quds University in Palestine and her Ph.D. from the Institute of Research in Egypt.
She currently serves as the head of the Arabic Language Department and has been in this role since 2016. Banan is also the coordinator of the Master's program in Arabic language and literature, as well as the coordinator of the Master's program in contemporary Islamic studies. Her specific area of expertise is modern and contemporary Arabic literature.

Banan Salah al-Din has contributed to various research publications and academic journals. Some of her research topics include the image of Andalusia in the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish, folk songs in contemporary Palestinian poetry, linguistic duality in contemporary Palestinian poetry, historical figures in the poetry of Aziz al-Mansurah, and more. She has also participated in collaborative projects, such as writing the last section of the Encyclopedia of Jerusalem, which focuses on the translation of literary and scholarly works, and contributing to a research encyclopedia on modern Palestinian literature.

Additionally, Banan has presented a book titled "Icon of Palestine: Aziz al-Mansurah," which includes five specialized research chapters on the poetry of Aziz al-Mansurah authored by herself.
