Janan Abu Shakhidem is a researcher and teaching assistant at the Language Center at the University of Jerusalem since 2018. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English language and literature from the University of Jerusalem. She then earned a Master's degree in teaching from Bard College and the University of Jerusalem.
Her research focuses on the impact of brainstorming and concept mapping as writing strategies on students' writing skills. Her research claims that concept mapping strategies have the potential to enhance students' writing performance. Her goal is to investigate the effect of implementing the concept map on improving students' writing skills and to determine if there are any significant differences in learner writing performance due to the impact of concept mapping on improving students' writing skills. Her interests lie in helping students develop their writing and communication skills, as well as providing teaching methods to faculty members.
