Dr. Abdul Salam Hamarsha, born in 1967 in the town of Ya'abad, completed his primary education in his hometown. He pursued his higher education in various fields, beginning with a degree in Business Programming and Systems Analysis in 1991. Subsequently, he moved to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, in 1992, where he enrolled in a program for Russian language preparation and then in the Faculty of Medicine.
In 1992, Hamarsha joined the Ukrainian National University of Physical Education on a physical rehabilitation program, which he completed in 1997. He earned his Master's degree in Physical Education Rehabilitation in the same university. In 1998, he embarked on a doctoral program in the same field and successfully obtained his Ph.D. in 2001.

Dr. Hamarsha joined the academic staff at Al-Quds University in 2002, where he has been a dedicated member of the Department of Physical Education. He teaches subjects related to anatomy, physiology of physical exertion, biomechanics, sports injuries, physical therapy, and rehabilitation, among others.
As an Associate Professor, Dr. Hamarsha's research interests include sports injuries, postural abnormalities, student activities, student violence in universities, and the physiology of physical exertion. He has actively participated in various scientific conferences in Palestine, the Arab world, and internationally.

Throughout his career at Al-Quds University, Dr. Hamarsha has held several administrative positions, including head of the Sports Department and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs. He has also served on numerous key committees within the Faculty of Arts and the Student Affairs Deanship, including student elections and central system committees. Beyond the university, Hamarsha has volunteered for important roles, including leadership in the Palestinian Scouts and Guides Association. He has been a scout leader with the Wood Badge emblem. Additionally, he served as the head of the Academic Scientific Committee for the Association of Graduates of Ukrainian Universities and Institutes (Friendship Association). He has also been involved in disciplinary committees for the Palestinian Football Federation.
