A Palestinian scientific study, prepared by a university professor from Birzeit University in Ramallah, concluded that grape leaves may be beneficial for treating lung cancer.
The study conducted by Dr. Jamil Harb at Birzeit University, in cooperation with students from the Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the university, found two types of healthy and cancerous cells, and the result was that the extract was able to suppress the growth of cancer cells.
After this initial discovery of grape leaf extract, the samples were transferred to the Max Planck Institute in Germany, where further studies were conducted on it.
The Palestinian researcher hopes, with the availability of capabilities, to transform the extract into an invention to prepare a medicine for prevention, or perhaps after extensive studies to treat some dangerous diseases.
