The General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities announced that the Palestinian academic, Dr. Mahmoud Sufyan Sardah won the Distinguished Arab Researcher Award (second place in the Arab world) for the year 2016, for his scientific and research achievements and contributions in the field of medical and health sciences.
This came in a message from the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi Al-Adwan, regarding the announcement of the winners of the Distinguished Arab Researcher Award for the year 2016, as the General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities allocates this award competitively to the best distinguished scientific production carried out by an Arab researcher in one of the scientific and research institutions included under the Association of Arab Universities.
It is scheduled to honor Dr. Sardah and the winners of the Distinguished Arab Researcher Award at a special ceremony on this occasion during the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, the 50th session, which will be held at the United Arab Emirates University next September.
It is mentioned that Dr. Mahmoud Sardah is Professor of Hematology and Molecular Genetics in the Department of Biology at Al-Azhar University - Gaza. He held a number of administrative positions in the University Council as Dean of Scientific Research and Dean of the College of Science, and received a number of international research grants and important research awards in Europe and the United States.
He also received the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils Award for Outstanding Scientific Research for the year 2014 in the field of renewable biotechnology, and second place in the Arab world, and the Scientific Research Council Award of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education 2013-2014.
