Abdelkarim Barqawi's academic and professional journey reflects a steadfast commitment to the field of surgery, coupled with a strong foundation in medical education. Beginning with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Medicine from Aleppo University, Syria, Barqawi specialized in esthetic surgery of the aging face. Subsequently, he pursued his doctoral studies at the Jordanian Medical Council, Jordan, focusing on general surgery.
Throughout his career, Barqawi has held various positions across different institutions and countries. He served as a senior specialist of general surgery at the International Medical Center in Saudi Arabia from March 2008 to March 2011. He then returned to Palestine, where he worked as a general surgeon at SAH and as a lecturer at NNU from August 2011 to January 2014. Since then, Barqawi has been serving as an assistant professor at An Najah National University, Palestine. Concurrently, he has held the position of consultant general surgeon at NNUH since September 2013.
Moreover, Barqawi served as the Chief Medical Officer at Najah National University Hospital from September 2017 to May 2023, demonstrating his leadership capabilities and dedication to healthcare management.
