Dr. Samir Shadid is a professor in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine. Since 2008, Dr. Shadid has been an active researcher and lecturer in the field of water resources modeling and management. He has conducted numerous researches in the following areas: hydrological modeling, water harvesting, climate change, water quality, best agricultural practices for protecting groundwater quality, integration of microwave links for rainfall measurement and analysis, development of a smart application for the development and use of water harvesting technologies as a reliable water source.
In addition, Dr. Shadid has supervised several graduation projects for undergraduate students in the Civil Engineering Department as well as master’s theses in the field of water and environmental engineering and environmental sciences. The courses he teaches to undergraduate and master’s students vary between hydrological systems and processes, natural resource management, water-plant-soil system, engineering hydrology, introduction to environmental engineering, irrigation and drainage systems, fluid mechanics, statics, mechanics of materials, introduction to civil engineering and professional ethics, environment in Palestine, and geographic information systems. Finally, Dr. He is a consultant to many local and international companies and consulting institutions in the field of water, environment and strategic planning.
