Rizk Abdel Rahman Salem Salimiya (November 10, 1969 - ) is a Palestinian academic and university professor . Since March 2024, he has held the position of Minister of Agriculture in the government of Muhammad Mustafa .
His life
Rizk Salimiya was born in 1969 in the town of Idhna, Hebron District .
He studied horticulture at the University of Aden between 1990 and 1994 and obtained a bachelor's degree . Between 1996 and 1997 he obtained a master's degree in protected agriculture from the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute in Chania , Greece , and between 2000 and 2004 he obtained a doctorate in botany from Aristotle University in Greece .
Salimiya worked as head of the Agricultural Education Department in the Palestinian Ministry of Education , and as a lecturer at Hebron University and Palestine Polytechnic University - Khadouri .
On December 21, 2020, he was appointed President of Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education and continued until 2024.
On March 28, 2024, President Mahmoud Abbas approved the ministerial formation of the nineteenth Palestinian government headed by Muhammad Mustafa and granted it confidence. On March 31, 2024, Salimiya took the legal oath as Minister of Agriculture at the Palestinian presidential headquarters in the city of Al-Bireh .
