Dr. Kamal Dumaidi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Analysis at the College of Allied Medical Sciences. With a strong background in microbiology, virology, and molecular diagnostics, Dr. Dumaidi has made significant contributions to the fields of infectious diseases, epidemiology, and public health. His research focuses on the molecular characterization of viral and parasitic infections, with published studies addressing topics such as SARS-CoV-2, enteroviruses, hepatitis viruses, cutaneous leishmaniasis, and other endemic diseases in Palestine and the Mediterranean region.

He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, including pioneering work on the genetic diversity of Leishmania tropica, the epidemiology of enteroviruses in cerebrospinal fluid samples, and the seroprevalence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) in the West Bank. Dr. Dumaidi's recent research includes the first report on hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreaks in Palestine and genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 variants.

As a committed educator, Dr. Dumaidi teaches a range of undergraduate and graduate courses such as Medical Virology, Immunology and Serology, Medical Parasitology, Quality Control and Lab Management, and Advanced Laboratory Management in Immunohematology. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and Greek, and remains actively involved in academic platforms including ResearchGate, LinkedIn, Academia.edu, Scopus, and Google Scholar, where his scholarly impact is widely recognized.
