Dr. Fikry Samara is an Associate Professor, Assistant Dean of the College of Allied Medical Sciences, and Head of the Department of Public Health and Environment at the Arab American University, based at the Jenin campus. He is affiliated with the Department of Medical Analysis and teaches a wide range of undergraduate courses, including Clinical Hematology, Immunohematology, Human Physiology, Medical Ethics, and Scientific Research. Dr. Samara is trilingual, fluent in Arabic, English, and Greek.

His research focuses on hematology, infectious diseases, and genetic disorders, particularly within the Palestinian population. Among his notable publications are studies on genetic polymorphisms associated with immune disorders, sickle cell disease, β-thalassemia, hepatitis infections, and hemophilia. Some of his most recognized articles include: “Mannose binding lectin and ficolin-2 polymorphisms and risk of bacterial infections in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia” (2014), “Prevalence of anemia and iron deficiency among Palestinian pregnant women” (2018), and “Genetic diversity and risk factors of hepatitis A virus in the West Bank” (2020).
