He holds a Diploma in Air Surveying from the Royal Jordanian Geographical Center, a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from An-Najah National University in Palestine, and both a Master’s and a PhD in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems from Durham University in the United Kingdom. His doctoral research focused on evaluating the accuracy of using satellite remote sensing to estimate agricultural areas in the northern West Bank, Palestine, while his master’s thesis involved developing land use maps for selected areas of County Durham using satellite remote sensing and field surveys.

Dr. Ghadia began his career as Head of the Aerial Survey Department at the Royal Jordanian Geographical Center (1980–1982), later working as a Cartography and Geography Studio Technician at An-Najah National University (1983–1993). He joined the academic staff of An-Najah in 1995, advancing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor, and eventually to Associate Professor. He also served as Vice President of the Palestinian Astronomical Society (1997–2000) and as a member of the Administrative Board of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences (1997–2000). Furthermore, he contributed as a Cartographer to the Final Status Negotiations Committees (1997–2000) and has been a member of the National Committee for Geographical Names in Palestine since 2010.

His research interests lie in remote sensing, GIS applications, cartography, and the impact of food–drug interactions on geography-related policy and planning. Over his career, Dr. Ghadia has combined academic leadership, teaching, and applied research, making significant contributions to the development of geography and geospatial sciences in Palestine and the wider region.
