Ameen Sobhi Al-Askari: A Palestinian scholar from the city of Safed. He earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Karl Hoest University of Economic Sciences. He served as the Director of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) in East Germany and West Berlin, and obtained a diploma in Journalism and Media from the Institute of Solidarity in Berlin.
Dr. Al-Askari also worked as an advisor to the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade in Qatar. He taught various courses in economics, media, and culture at universities and institutes in Damascus, as well as at the Children of Martyrs Foundation.
He is considered one of the most important documenters of the history and heritage of the Palestinian city of Safed. His most recent book about Safed is titled “The Sun Rises from There.”
