Wassef Shadid: A Dutch professor of Palestinian origin, he holds a PhD in Philosophy and Anthropology from Leiden University in the Netherlands in 1979. He is a professor in the Department of Multilingual and Multicultural Societies, Faculty of Arts at Tilburg University. He was previously a professor of Cultural Anthropology at Leiden University. He specializes in anthropology, population research and studies, particularly in religious and ethnic groups, minorities, expatriates, migration, multiculturalism, customs and traditions.
