Information

Sameer Ikhdair was born on June 10, 1963 in Nablus 63 Km north of Jerusalem in West Bank (Cisjordanian) province of Palestine. He received his educations in Nablus and attended Qadri Tuqan High School between 1978 and 1980. He received his B. Sc. degree in Physics from An-Najah National University of Nablus at the end of 1985, both M. Sc. and Ph. D. degrees from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey) in July 1988 and June1992, respectively, in high energy physics. His thesis work was on Theoretical and high energy (particle) physics. In 1985, he was also the recipient of the An-Najah National University prize awarded to the highly honoured students. From 1988 to 1993 he was first a faculty Research Affiliate in METU conducting his work on particle physics. From 1989 to 1993 he was also on the faculty of the METU as a Teaching Assistant. He received an award from the Arab Student Aid International, New Jersey, USA, given from prince Turkey Inb Abdul-Aziz to support highly honoured Ph.D. graduate students He also received financial supports from Abdus-Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy in 1992 and 1996 to attend summer sessions on the high energy physics. From 1992 to 1993 on leave from Middle East University he was with Prof. Dr. Ramazan Sever Sever@metu.edu.tr where he was conducting his postdoctoral research. In February 16, 1993 he joined the Near East University (NEU) as an assistant professor in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department and also served in the department as physics coordinator. In February 10, 2000 he promoted to the Associated Professor in High Energy Physics. Afterwards, he conducted his research works in different fields of Physics: mathematical, nuclear, particle, molecular, atomic and chemical physics. Some of his pre-print papers are posted onto the hep-ph server at Cornell university and also Stanford university server in United States.
