“Muhammad Samir” Najeeb Abd al-Baqi al-Labadi (born April 13, 1936) is a Palestinian writer, linguist, poet and academic. He was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm, grew up and studied there, and holds Jordanian nationality. He has published a collection of literary works and linguistic and critical studies, and he is a member of the Jordanian Writers Association.

“Muhammad Samir” Najeeb Abd al-Baqi al-Labadi was born in the city of Tulkarem in Mandatory Palestine on April 13, 1937 AD, corresponding to Safar 2, 1356 AH. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in “Arabic Language and Literature” in 1957 from Al-Azhar University, then a master’s degree in “linguistics” in 1967, then a doctorate in the same specialty in 1973.

 

He worked as a professor of grammar, rhetoric, and prosody at the Al-Ahsa Scientific Institute in Saudi Arabia from 1957 to 1965, then as a teacher of religious and Arabic sciences in Kuwait’s intermediate and secondary schools from 1965 to 1971, then as an educational mentor in them from 1971 to 1990, after which he worked as a lecturer at Faculty of Arts at Kuwait University until he moved to Jordan, where he worked as a professor of Arabic at the Jordanian Israa University from 1991 to 2006, and also at the Middle East University for Postgraduate Studies in Amman from 2009-2010 until his retirement.
