Information

The poet Abdul Latif Zaghloul was born in Nablus. He studied at the Hashemite and Salahiyya schools. He worked as a postal clerk in Haifa and Al-Arish, and later became the telephone operator for the city of Nablus. He also served as the postmaster for Deir al-Ghusun, Salfit, and Qalqilya. He began by composing romantic, love, and patriotic poems. From the mid-1970s onward, he turned to religious and spiritual poetry, dedicating many poems to this theme and covering most Islamic occasions. Despite this, he remained engaged with the events unfolding in his homeland, composing patriotic poems during the Intifada. His son, the poet Lutfi Zaghloul, collected his poems and published them in a diwan. He left behind a valuable library. He passed away in Amman.
