The writer and literary figure Thuraya Abdel Fattah Malhas was born in Nablus and studied in Amman schools. Later, she attended Beirut College for Women (Beirut University College) and earned her master's degree from the American University of Beirut. She wrote short stories, criticism, research, and poetry. She published seven poetry collections, the first of which was released in Beirut in 1949. She also authored thirteen books, including: Our Linguistic Greats, The Dimensions of Al-Ma'arri, The Arab Woman and the Spirit of Struggle, The Methodology of Scientific Research, and The Umayyad Era: Three Volumes - Beirut 1975.
