The writer and poet Saleh Mustafa al-Tamimi was born and educated in Nablus, where he excelled in Islamic jurisprudence, language, and literature. He was appointed a Sharia judge in Gaza City, then transferred to work in the Sharia courts in Beirut. He later settled in Damascus, where he was highly regarded among its scholars, and died there. He had a manuscript of poetry which was lost during the 1948 war.
