Information

Dalal was born in Nazareth in 1983 to a music-loving family. Her talent has appeared at the age of 13 and she started singing Palestinian folk songs in different social and folklore parties. She became famous for singing classical Umm Kolthoum songs. Her first song "ana albi wrohi fadak" (I gift you my heart and soul) (Lyrics: Dr. Anan Abbasi, Composition: Alaa' Azzam) was in Top Ten for several weeks in local radio channels. Her second song "Bokra Jdeed" (Lyrics: Dr. Anan Abbasi, Composition: Ghassan Harb) was chosen as one of Top Five songs of the Euromedcafe international "other song" contest for intercultural dialogue and peace.

 
Dalal believes in humane and roots music and tries to create a special ethnic post modern Palestinian style with the help of best Palestinian song writers. Dalal and her band participated in several festivals around the world. She accompanies several international Orchestras as MESTO Orchestra from USA and Andalusian Orchestra from Israel/Palestine. Dalal also has a special performance for children and tries to teach them the Arabic classical music in a simplified way. Dalal is specialized in more than one musical genre. she mixes between Tarab (classical Arabic music) and folk music and tries to focus on different Maqamat (the system of melodic modes used in Arabic music) and rhythms.
 
JUST TO KNOW: Dalal is also a student in her second degree (M.Sc.) in Cognitive and Brain sciences at Technion Institute in Haifa, and she wants to continue working as a neuroscientist in parallel with being a singer.
