Rawda Fahim Muhammad Al-Farkh is a Jordanian writer of Palestinian descent. Famously known as Kindergarten Al-Farkh Hoopoe. She was born in Jaffa, Palestine in 1946. She has been married since 1967 to engineer Hussam El-Din Taher Al-Hodhud, and she has four sons and one daughter. Previously, she worked as the head of the board of directors at Al-Manhal Educational Foundation (Al-Manhal International School), a member of the International Board of Books for Children and Youth, IBBY, and a founding member of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development. She has published several books, including: heroic tales for children, scientific tales series, theater series, ghoul tales series, series of companion stories, illustrated stories, early childhood books, and tapes.

She worked as an editor responsible for the weekly children's supplement in Al-Dustour newspaper, 1982-1995. She contributed to the editing of the Jordanian children's magazine "Wissam", issued by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. And participates in seminars, conferences and exhibitions of children's books at the level of the Arab world.

She was an elected member of the administrative board of the Federation of Charitable Societies for the Capital Governorate.

Achievements and Awards

She received the State Appreciation Award in Children's Literature / Jordan in 1999.
She received the Khalil Sakakini Prize for Child Literature and Culture from the Jordanian Writers Association in 1995.
She received the shield of the Royal Jordanian Air Force for her book "Lion over Haifa" 1983.
She won the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science Award for her book "The Caravan of Redemption" in 1982.
