Information

Huda Al-Shawa Al-Qaddoumi is a Palestinian/Kuwaiti writer of Palestinian father and British mother. She was born in the United Kingdom. She writes in the field of theater productions and children’s and youth literature. Her works have won many awards, including the Sheikh Zayed Prize for Children’s Literature for her book “The Birds’ Journey to Mount Qaf” in 2008.

Huda Qaddoumi grew up in the United Kingdom, and she currently lives in Kuwait with her husband and two children, where she works as a professor of English at Kuwait University. She went to the American University in Cairo, where she obtained a BA in Economics and Political Science, and then obtained a Master of Education in Teaching English from the College of New Jersey in the United States of America. She is currently working on obtaining her second master's degree in comparative literature and cultural studies from Kuwait University.

Her book "The Bird's Journey to Mount Qaf", published by Dar Al-Saqi, won the "Sheikh Zayed Prize for Children's Literature" in 2008, and the same book won the "Best Directing Book Award" at the 50th Beirut International Book Fair, and was inspired by the poetic system "The Bird's Logic". By the Persian Sufi poet “Farid al-Din al-Attar” who lived in Nishapur during the twelfth century AD, whose pictures reflect the color and spirit of Islamic art by the British artist “Vanessa Hodgkinson”. Al-Qurain Cultural Festival in 2018, and she also has theatrical scripts through her independent establishment of "Taqa Production Company" based in Kuwait and employed in the production of cultural shows in the performing arts and visual arts.
