Muayad Ibrahim al-Irani (1910 - January 10, 1987) was a Palestinian poet and translator of the twentieth century. He was born in the city of Acre to a family of Persian origin. He studied at the Jesuit Brothers School in Haifa and learned six languages: Arabic, Hebrew, French, English, German, and Russian, except for Persian, the language of his parents. He appointed an employee in the Haifa municipality. He began composing poetry early in his life, and his poetry was marked by romance and despair. He has written several collections of poetry and a philosophical poetic play entitled “Majnoun Laila”. He died in Haifa.

Muayyad bin Ibrahim al-Irani was born in the year 1328 AH / 1910 AD in the Palestinian city of Acre and grew up there in a family of Persian-Iranian origins. He studied and graduated from the Freire College in Haifa, and mastered six languages: Arabic, French, English, German, Russian and Hebrew, in addition to Persian, the language of his parents.
He worked as an accountant in the Haifa municipality, and graduated in the municipality until he was appointed city clerk, and was contributing as a translator from and to the languages he mastered. He also worked as an editor in the Arabic section of “Liqaa” magazine. He was a member of the National Consultative Council for Culture and Art in Palestine. Retired in 1975.
He lived in France for a while, and in 1983 he immigrated to the United States. Then he returned to Palestine, until he died January 10, 1987/10 Jumada al-Ula 1407 in Haifa.

Its poetic contents varied, and ranged from romantic to contemplative sentimental, "but the romantic tendency remained the most dominant and present characteristic of it." He mentioned in Al-Babtain’s Dictionary of him, “His poetry is abundant in short, quick, intense photographic clips, which fall within the framework of emotional contemplative poetry, and it is dominated by the emotion of sadness and the complaint of time. In his poetry, he frequently repeats the vocabulary of death, despair, night, sadness, blackness and darkness, and many of his poems begin to address time (O time of darkness - O time of revelation...), as he tends to mix with nature, dialogue and broadcast his concern and complaint, in a sentimental and excessive romantic feature.
He is considered one of the pioneers of the Palestinian literary renaissance, but he was not famous, did not receive critical attention, and was far from the Palestinian cause.
His writings
He has several translations, the most important of which is his translation of the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi from Persian to Arabic, in 1986. Among his collections of poetry:
