Samir Adel Awida  is a Palestinian businessman , journalist and translator , owner and chairman of the board of directors of Inmaa Company (Gulf Development and Reconstruction), which he founded in the seventies and which has 7 branches distributed between the UAE , Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman until his retirement in 2011. At first, he worked in the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jordan , then worked in a number of Gulf countries in the field of translation and editing, such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in the news department of the Kuwait Radio House , then he moved to the field of entrepreneurship and worked as a sales manager in one of the Kuwaiti companies, and in the Emirates as general manager of an equipment company. 

His early life

In 1934 , Awida was born in Jerusalem . He received his basic education in Jerusalem and obtained his university degree from the National College in Ramallah after he was displaced from Jerusalem with his family.

From his charitable works

He has made several material contributions to the medical sector. In 2016 , he donated $1.5 million to the Khaled Al-Hassan Hospital for cancer treatment and bone marrow transplantation.  He also provided financial funding for the restoration of the orthopedics, maternity, and pediatric departments at the hospital for the benefit of the Al-Maqasid Islamic Charitable Society Hospital in Jerusalem.  On June 27 , 2019 , he inaugurated the Samir Awida Building (the building of the Faculty of Arts, Music  and Design) at Birzeit University, which he financed .  In April 2023 , Awida concluded a financing agreement to establish a solar power plant at Al-Quds University for $1.5 million.
