Munir Ragheb Al-Kalouti: A Palestinian businessman from Jerusalem, nicknamed the King of Gold, he moved to Dubai in 1988 and started working with gold through a small shop in the Dubai Gold Souk. He then established the first gold factory in Sharjah, and in the early 1990s, he founded a small gold refinery. Today, his company refines between 350 and 400 tons of gold annually. The Al-Kalouti Group has been able to extend its business empire and partnerships to geographically distant countries in Latin America, such as Suriname.
